After an urgent appeal for action from the prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, the police on Thursday night arrested Ms. Parveen’s uncle, two cousins and a driver employed by her family. The police had arrested her father in the hours after the killing. Senior legal officials have emphasized that they will expedite criminal prosecutions to ensure the suspects will face justice as soon as possible. However, more troubling details about this case have emerged - including that the man she married and ultimately died for murdered his previous wife.
