Update from Fonda...Status Update By Toms Fight Against Cancer Tuesday, August 19: Our family would like to extend our gratitude to all who have and continue to lift our family up in prayer. While Toms battle with cancer is finally won, (yes won....he has received his reward in heaven), the journey you have all joined us in is not yet complete. Here is the information for Toms services. We would be honored to have any and all join us in celebrating Toms life! Tom chose to be cremated, and there will not be a viewing if his body prior to cremation per his wishes. It isnt that Tom was a vain person, actually far from it. He chose this for the main reason that he does not want to be remembered in the way that cancer left his body, but wants instead to be remember as the way you last saw him. Tom was always putting the thoughts and needs of everyone else first, even in death he requested the same. Service will be held this Saturday, August 23rd, at 11:00 am, with reception immediately following. The family will scatter his ashes at a later date in a private ceremony, again per Toms wishes. He did not want his remains stored in an urn because he doesnt want anyone even pretending he is somehow there. Again, thinking if all of us first. Here is the funeral home handling his arrangements, the church information where his service will be held and hotel accommodations for those who are coming in from out of town.
