Update on Derek....Because of what x-rays have been showing in Dereks right lung (which look worse now than when they brought him in) they did bronchoscopy yesterday afternoon. They suctioned up very little fluid. Ultrasound of chest revealed very little fluid. They have him on two very strong antibiotics but he continues to run fevers up to 104. Xrays of his right elbow after a few days in splint show that the elbow is no longer dislocated, which is good. He remains on a vent which he obviously hates, but hates more that they have to sunction his lung through vent.
