Update on Malachi: Yesterdays adventure was bittersweet,heartbreaking(on his folks) and absolutely delightful(on Sweet M).He had a farewell visit to his favorite garden,the US National Arboretum.He climbed the hill to the National Capitol Column,enjoyed the glorious rose garden,played under his favorite arbors,smelled lovely herbs and walked the azalea garden paths he loved.Despite all,my boy has an unlimited source of opportunities to be surprised by joy. He was savoring each moment,raising his noble head once in a while to feel the breeze on his face,while flashing that sweet smile.He had a pretty good week overall.He got a kick out of his Celebration of Malachis Life party.We want him to have a little party just in case he wont make it til July 24.He has an excellent appetite,actually gained a little weight,is very alert,curious and playful.Most of all,he is so serene,sweet and gentle.Some friends want to meet him,but we wish to share his spirit and courage for now.We do not feel comfortable to share his physical changes that he cannot help.He is not in discomfort or pain as any possibility of this kind is carefully addressed.How do we feel about this long good-byes? The life can be really hard,and mighty uncertain,this courageous boy fills ours with so many signs of hope,joy and happiness.Each day he tells us,This is the best day of my life.I never had so much fun. SO it is!!
