*Update on Proposed Apartments in Country Boy Dairy* On Tuesday - TopicsExpress

*Update on Proposed Apartments in Country Boy Dairy* On Tuesday night the City Council heard a petition from the owner of the property west of the old Country Boy Dairy. The property owner wanted to re-zone up to 30 acres of property for apartments (see former posts for more details) The City Council heard the request and denied the application for apartments. The Council did approve the re-zone of up to 8 acres of property for a proposed Senior Care neighborhood. This area will be located at about 1700 North and 150 East. It will not be located next to any current homes. The area north of the Senior Care Neighborhood is currently located in Weber County. The area to the west is a new residential neighborhood that is under construction. This senior care neighborhood will involve a number of duplexes for semi-independent living by seniors, as well as a care facility for higher levels of care. The senior neighborhood is being built by a company that has developed a number of aesthetically pleasing and very complementary such developments around the country. I believe that this was a great decision by the City Council. It completely denied the requested apartments, while allowing for a senior care neighborhood, which will be a good transition from the commercial space further east.
