Update on our BIG 50 Years of WSHS celebration that is only 6 days away on September 12 & 13. We have 2,568 signed up to attend and the number will easily be double that as most people will be bringing someone (or lots of someones with them). We have sold over 1,300 of our great event magnets, a ton of T shirts and cozies and people are getting very excited for this event. The event starts at 3:30 on Friday, September 12 at Woodbridge Middle School, which opened as Woodbridge Senior High School 50 years ago. The tailgate starts at 4 pm at the new 40 year old WSHS followed by the football game vs. Patriot HS. During the game, we will have Alumni Cheer, Dance and Marching Band appearances. On Saturday, we are having a Co-Ed Alumni Soccer Game on the game field(weather permitting) starting at 9:30 am and a gigantic Open house starting at noon. At the open house, we are having slideshows of ten 5 year eras at WSHS (1964-1969, 1969-1974, 1974-1979 etc along with slideshows from many of the sports, clubs and activities as well as an Alumi Art Show,an Alumni Chorus gathering, An Alumni Orchestra performance, a Coffee House sponsored by Eddas (Literary Magazine, An interactive Improvisation Drama event, A Robotics demonstration a DJ spinning 50 years of tunes along with a slideshow of pictures from the 50 years of WSHS in the cafeteria and at 3 pm, we will head out to the stadium (weather permitting) for a Marching Band, Cheerleader and Vikette Dance Performance as a prelude to the HUGE Picture of 50 Years of WSHS Vikings!! BUT WAIT< we will still have our 60s bands and all of those slideshows going on until 6 pm for those who came late. This is going to be GREAT!!
