Update on our relief fund: Thank you for opening your wallets. We have more than exceeded our goal of raising $1,000. We were able to pool our donations to $2,300 (from over 30 individuals). We wired the amount today via Western Union. We’re proud to say…we are doing our best to help. Jun and Ging, our designated couple / coordinator for distributing food and materials for shelters including repair of chapel for the homeless, are very busy with the task. They’ve been doing countless efforts even before our donation. Our contribution will allow them to continue their noble efforts. It’s been a week since typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan unleashed its fury to our fellow countrymen. We’ve been seeing news about the havoc that it caused along its path: 2 million families (10 million individuals) thousands dead, and those lucky are struggling to survive without food, water and shelter. We’ve also seen countless donations now slowly trickling to the victims from countless individuals, organizations, corporations, and large-scale aids from governments including US. It will probably take days if not weeks before these aids and relief efforts will improve conditions in the affected areas. Thank you all for your generosity!
