Update on the Sunset water main break: The valve feeding the ruptured main was shut off at 5:25 pm, although residual pressure resulted in continued flow for some time. We are now seeing the flood water recede on campus. Although some water entered level 1 of Structure 8, there is no reported damage or impacts to that structure. The primary areas of concern remain Parking Structures 4 and 7, Pauley Pavilion, Anderson, Wooden, Morgan, Arthur Ashe, Acosta and James West, which have all sustained water damage. It is anticipated that the streets of Charles E. Young Dr. North (De Neve - Charles E. Young East) and Sunset (Veteran - Hilgard) will be closed tomorrow. Traffic is expected to be heavy due to Sunset Blvd closure, and may remain so for several days. Please plan your route to work accordingly. No one is being allowed into the above parking structures. If your vehicle happens to be stuck in one of these structures, Parking & Transportation Services has set up a phone line to request a ride at 310-825-3618. Until further notice staff assigned to Parking Structures 4 and 7 will be reassigned to Parking Structures 2 and 3. For more information or updates, visit ucla.edu/
