Update re. Complaint against Akhilesh Yadav : DGP UP took cognizance of violation of Model Code of Conduct and forwarded my complaint to DIG of Complaint cell of UP. Akhilesh Yadav not only violated Model Code of Conduct but misused the power of official account of CM of UP also as he appealed to the followers of official facebook id of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav to “Vote for Cycle. Vote for Samajwadi Party.” and that too at a time when voting for 11 seats of legislative assembly and one seat of parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh was in progress. Sir, As per details available on facebook website , account in the name of Akhilesh Yadav is being used by a Politician named Akhilesh Yadav. About Akhilesh Yadav, the site contains description “Akhilesh Yadav is an Indian politician, a member of the Samajwadi Party and as of March 2012 is the youngest person to hold the office of Chief Minister .” His contact information is given as samajwadiparty.in/ “. This is the official website of Ruling Samahwadi party in Uttar Pradesh. This makes it clear that this is a facebook account of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Today, at around 15:13 Hrs., Akhilesh Yadav posted a message on facebook which reads “Vote for Cycle. Vote for Samajwadi Party.” As at this time polling was going on for 11 seats of legislative assembly and one seat of parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh, hence this appears to be a case of clear violation of model code of conduct by UP CM Akhilesh Yadav. Please enquire the matter in accordance with law and take Appropriate punitive action against Akhilesh Yadav and inform me accordingly.
