********Updated Information******** NorCalPGR.org Walton’s Colonial Mortuary has graciously let the Patriot Guard Riders take our brother Thomas I. Robinson on his final Mission from our staging area on Hwy 36 enroute to Diamond Crest Cemetery. Tom’s remains will lead the Patriot Guard Riders below posted “Honor and Remembrance” ride through the City of Susanville to his final resting. The City of Susanville Police Department has stepped up and will escort our ride from the staging area to Diamond Crest Cemetery handling all lighted intersections. Please, anyone planning on attending this Mission from out of area, if you could contact me so I may give the Police Department a rough guess figure on the size of the procession. Just shoot me an email to: [email protected] or: [email protected] Prior to the below posted Mission for PGR Member Thomas Robinson, The Susanville Patriot Guard Riders would like to form all attending members at the top of the grade, approximately 2.1 miles west of Susanville at the brake check area, to conduct a “Honor” Ride through the city of Susanville in memory of our departed member Tom, as we ride direct to Diamond Crest Cemetery for Tom’s Interment Service. Cages are welcome. If all participating personnel from out of area please advise those wishing to attend to meet with us and we can ALL ride together and show our support for our loss of a great man. The time meeting/staging at the top of the hill pullout area are: STAGING: 09:00am BRIEFING: 09:15am KSU: 09:30am Sharp Interment Service For Fallen Patriot Guard Rider – US Army Veteran Pvt Thomas I. Robinson Monday June 24th, 2013 at 1100 hours Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, Ca. 96130 The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of fallen Patriot Guard Rider and US Army Veteran - Pvt. Thomas I. Robinson, to stand and honor during his Interment Service at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA. Pvt. Thomas I. Robinson served proudly in the US Army until he was injured in training and received a Honorable Discharge. After discharging from the US Army, PFC Pvt. Thomas I. Robinson became involved in veterans issues and joined the American Legion, rising through the ranks over the years and becoming the Post Commander for the Susanville American Legion Post 204. Tom later became the American Legion District 3 Commander in addition to his duties as the local Post Commander which he held until his untimely death. Once the Patriot Guard Riders started in the Susanville area, Tom was one of the first to join our ranks. Even with his motorized wheelchair, Tom would proudly show Honor and Respect at our Missions. While working daily at the Veterans Hall in Susanville, Tom would encourage any Veteran who came in to look into the Patriot Guard Riders to become members. Tom Robinson was well know and liked by all the local citizens of Susanville who would see him and his dog Angel motoring up the sidewalks of Susanville on his motorized chair with a big smile and wave to everyone he meet. Thomas Robinson was a true friend. Pvt. Thomas I. Robinson was a proud US Army veteran. Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family and fellow man, he will be missed by many. Staging – 10:00 hrs, at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville, CA GPS: N40 22.490 W120 35.422 Mission Briefing – 10:15 hrs Flag Line – 10:30 hrs Flag line will be conducted at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville , CA 96130 Memorial Services – KSU – N/A Interment Services – 11:00 hrs Approx Once at Diamond Crest Cemetery, PGR members will stand Flag/Honor Line until completion of ceremonies. Weather : Forecast to be sunny with temps expected to be 90 degrees. Please bring your flags for the flag line to render honors to a great man and fellow Patriot Guard Rider. Interment services are scheduled to begin at approximately 1100hrs, at the Diamond Crest Cemetery, off of Law Drive and Diamond Crest Road, Susanville, CA . NOTE : On some map programs, Diamond Crest Cemetery is listed as Johnstonville Cemetery. We will form a flag line to render honors to the family and friends as they arrive for the memorial service. The total mileage from Susanville south to the Diamond Crest Cemetery is approx 7.5 miles.
