MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER – Static Equipment Principle duties and responsibilities • To perform basic and detailed design engineering work on pressure vessels, heat exchangers, multi discipline packages, static equipment and piping in compliance with the Design Codes and Standards of ASME, API, TEMA.,BS. • Develop project data sheets, specifications, requests for quotations, evaluation of offers and follow up of equipment orders. • Follow up vendors for static equipment and multi discipline packages engineering and fabrication along with conducting expediting and inspection visits when required. • Follow up contractors and subcontractors within own discipline scope during engineering and construction phases in order to assure the quality and safety aspects of the work. • Perform engineering design and verification using PV ELLITE / CODEWARE • Perform in depth analysis and verification of 2D and 3D FEA models as per ASME VIII Div 2 Code. • Coordinate /manage and be part of the engineering and execution of multi discipline, multi scope Projects according to the Company Project Handling Procedures, including project planning, scheduling, Cost estimation and controls. • To perform execution and follow up activities of study & feasibility, engineering, detailed design work (calculations, specifications, Modeling / analysis of designed system / equipment), procurement (to create and follow up of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, tender documents, techno-commercial evaluations of bids, contracts.) . • Responsible to provide experienced level design and detail engineering while exhibiting efficient workflow performance. • Perform Nozzle load calculations with relevant standards. Perform flange sizing and thickness calculation with proper selection of gasket and bolts Perform/review strength calculations for pressure parts, skirts, saddles, leg supports etc. • Perform sizing calculations for pressure vessels / heat exchangers / columns like Air coolers, Filters and heaters, regenerators, absorber, HP Urea equipments. Sizing of air cooled, water cooled, finned tube, shell and tube type heat exchangers. • Proficient in carry out remaining life assessment of pressure vessels and Fitness for service based on API recommendations. • To Exhibit proficiency in executing quality design and engineering to all types of static equipment used in Company processing plants with minimal assistance • Providing a close watch on budgets and technical issues affecting quality And/or schedule together with supplying current and timely status reports on all project tasks assigned. • Prepare and coordinate for the documentation & drawings of the projects through in-house draftsmen or contractor. • Will conduct & participate in Safety Reviews, Job Safety Analysis, Tool Box Meeting and will have required knowledge of industrial Safety standards, practices & Safe Work Permit requirements, and comply with all relevant QAFCO Management System procedures in respect to Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment Minimum Qualification, Experience: • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Discipline. • A minimum of 8 years proven successful experience in engineering environment, designing and review of static equipment, piping and multi discipline package units within the Oil & Gas, Fertilizer or Petrochemical Industry. • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering codes and standards and their application with reference to stationary equipment and piping design. • Should have a very good English communication & Technical Report Writing Skills. • Good knowledge & ability to operate standard PC applications/ MS Office. • Very good knowledge in Metallurgy and Material selection along with corrosion and failure mechanism in oil & gas, fertilizer and petrochemical plants. Experience is use of ASTM standards is a must. • Good knowledge of welding procedures, welding qualifications, None Destructive Testing, according to the ASME Code. • Ability to work in a multi discipline, multi national environment. • Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks. • Ability to lead and be part of multi discipline teams. • Very well versed in using Autocad and electronic documentation procedures. 2. PROJECTS PLANNING ENGINEER The incumbent will have to liaise closely with the project coordinators concerning projects planning, progress, reporting, and maintaining projects details in the portfolio in order to have an overview. The incumbent will assist the lead projects services in all aspects regarding planning of projects, portfolio reporting, and producing statistics, trends in order to assist projects department resources planning and decision making. The incumbent must communicate closely with the concern department within the company to ensure the quality and correctness of the data in the projects management systems. The incumbent is expected to keep informed of technological software developments in the area of responsibility in order to identify and recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness and/ or cost reduction. The incumbent must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment Procedures. The ideal candidate shall posses a Bachelor Degree Education Certificate in Engineering Subject. Minimum 8 years direct and relevant working experience in a projects planning function of a large Industrial Organization, preferable Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry. Practical experience in the field activities and projects execution logic. Knowledge of project management and good skills in planning and other office software. Should have a very good English communication & Technical report writing skills. 4. MECHANICAL WORKSHOP ENGINEER ( will be posted soon) 5. MECHANICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER This position is responsible for assisting Field Engineers / Head of Section in carrying out planning, prioritizing, executing and monitoring of maintenance and project activities in QAFCOs Material Handling, Ammonia, Urea and Utilities Area. The successful candidate shall have to participate in studies, investigations, and improvement projects related to QAFCO’s plants, systems and equipment. Experience in development of specifications for the procurement of spares, equipment and services and conducting technical evaluation of bids is a must. The candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, operate standard PC Applications and have Technical Report Writing Skills. Experience in planning software, basic financial skills and handling of projects will be an advantage. A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with minimum seven years proven successful experience in an Ammonia / Urea environment or in a Maintenance organization within the Oil / Gas / Petrochemical Industry is required. 6. CONDITION MONITORING ENGINEER This position is responsible for monitoring rotating equipment machinery condition for impending faults, heavily orientated towards solving machinery problems through vibration data collection, analysis of data and identifying root causes. The successful candidate shall have the responsibility for recommending the most technically and commercially feasible corrective actions.Supervise a team of Condition Monitoring technicians and support their development in this specialized field. Provide specialist services to Projects and Field Maintenance on issues relating to machinery such as developing specifications, selection, design, modifications, vibration acceptance and performance testing. Provide technical support in the field of lube oil specifications, analysis and monitoring. Ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO’s Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment procedures. The candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, operate standard PC Applications and have Technical Report Writing Skills. A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University followed by 10 years direct and relevant trade experience in Machinery Maintenance, Vibration Analysis and Condition Monitoring within the Oil & Gas, Fertilizer or Petrochemical Industry is required. 7. RELIABILITY ENGINEER (MECHANICAL) Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Provide technical engineering support to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Production and Project personnel regarding design, selection, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and long term reliability of equipment; • Provide technical input in ensuring reliability of equipment, within area of responsibility (mechanical, electrical or instrument equipment),is maintained including input into RAM, Criticality and FMEA studies, within a Team environment; • Review Engineering packages, drawings, mechanical design calculations, material specifications and purchase requisitions; • Interrogation of existing client maintenance strategies and procedures, written schemes of examination and standard texts, and extraction of relevant data for incorporation into new Master maintenance strategies; • Interrogation of client asset data bases, manipulation and interpretation of spreadsheet data for FMEA; • Advise on operation and maintenance strategy in support of the requirements established by the site and relevant Integrity and Reliability Standards; • Lead and/or participate in RCA sessions as and when required; • Use Reliability findings and investigations to advise and confer with Consultants, Contractors and Maintenance team on alternative Design/Repair Solutions; • Fully familiar with FMEA,RCA,RCM,RBI and SIS practices; • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) • Maintains knowledge of applicable regulations, international/national codes, standards of practice and legislation, industry trends, technical developments in the oil and gas equipments field; • Monitor amendments to legislation and industry guidelines, and ensure continued compliance for operational units; • Forward thinking attitude, awareness of new market technologies and their applications to brown field maintenance situations; • Support the usage and reporting of Integrity and Reliability KPI’s; • Assist in establishing and updating maintenance strategies including recognition of ageing and obsolete equipment; • Establish and update spare parts strategies with main focus on rotating equipment. • Ensure that the condition and operation of equipment is in line with overall procedures, regulations, unit specific Procedures and performance standards; • Attend client reliability workshops and provide input as required. Required Skills / Experience: • Working knowledge of the applicable international Codes/Standards; • Interpretation of Process Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s); • Experience in Facilities engineering design, operation and maintenance of Oil & Gas electrical and/or instrument equipment; • Knowledge of FMEA,RCA,HAZOP; • Knowledge of Process Safety Management and Operational Excellence; • Experience in Risk and Condition Based methodologies’ associated with equipment life cycle management; • Demonstrate support of management objectives and ability to lead initiatives through change management; • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment; • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; • Excellent computer literacy in MS packages and familiarity with CMMS systems i.e. ERP,JD Oracle, The ideal candidates should have the following: • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University and a CMRP qualification will be an advantage. • 10-12 years direct & relevant experience in Maintenance / Engineering functions within a fertilizer, oil /gas or petrochemical industry. • Good command in English (written & spoken) is a must. • Good knowledge in standard PC application and common computer applications. 8. INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS ENGINEER The position is responsible for system maintenance and second line maintenance of the Honeywell TDC-3000 (TPS) Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in Qafco, including diagnostics and trouble shooting. Furthermore, to develop and enhance functionality in existing systems; and implementing new DCS projects. The work shall be organized and performed in the most cost effective way, and all enhancements and modifications shall be made in accordance with QAFCO requirements to improve the safety, environmental aspects, quality and production of the Plant. Also responsible to maintain and improve documentation for the DCS. Maintain close liaison with suppliers to be up to date with latest technology and recommend system upgrades, etc. The candidate shall have a Bachelors degree in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, have detailed knowledge about HONEYWELL TDC-3000 (TPS) and have attended advanced courses on the TDC System. The candidate should also have experience with implementing logic and (complex) controls in DCS, GUS implementation and administration such as GUS Display builder and Windows NT / NT Networking. Experience with PLCs such as Triconex and Honeywell FSC is advantageous. Strong aptitude for systematical work and minimum of five years of hands on experience from similar work in process industry or with supplier of (Honeywell) DCS systems to such industries. 9. PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER Principle duties and responsibilities • To plan & execute Process Safety & Risk Engineering studies for Projects including but not limited to HAZOP, SIL Classification, Hazardous Area Classification, QRA, Risk Assessment, Risk Analysis, Dispersion Studies, Process Safety Studies. • To assist or being responsible for analyzing, determining and ensuring optimum process safety measures are identified & implemented during various project phases. • Follow valid standards, technical requirements and good engineering practices to ensure that projects are executed in line with agreed on process safety specifications. • To provide specifications for the procurement of equipment and services. Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of bids and recommend preferred suppliers to ensure meeting optimum process safety requirements. • To plan work activities, and lead various project teams to ensure project safety activities are achieved within the set time schedules, specification and cost. • Follow up and control implementation of recommended safety measures. • Keep informed of technological developments and best practices in the area of responsibility in order to update knowledge, identify and recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness and/or cost reduction. • Train and guide the Project engineers in the field of Process Safety and ensure the Process engineers are capable of performing the full scope of process safety engineering and design. • Enhance the knowledge ad ability to perform safety analysis with all the project engineers of all disciplines. • Develop the Company Process Safety Specification and Standards to be sued in all projects. • Comply with all relevant QAFCO Management System procedures in respect to Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment. Minimum Qualifications and Experience • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or others relevant engineering discipline. • A minimum of 8 years proven successful experience in a Process Safety field within fertilizer / oil & gas or petrochemical industry. • Extensive knowledge in all aspects of Process Safety Engineering implementation and execution based on International Standards. • Should have a very good knowledge & ability to operate standard PC applications/ MS Office. • Should have a very good English communication & Technical Report Writing Skills. 10. PRODUCTION SUPPORT ENGINEER The position is responsible to perform the following: • Carry out various Engineering activities in analyzing and resolving problems of technical nature in his respective area of specialization. • Will be involved in the planning, prioritizing, execution and monitoring of engineering activities / projects, reporting work progress, problem analysis & trouble shooting and problem anticipation. • Will participate in studies, investigations and projects, maintain contact with process licensors / equipment manufacturers, provide specifications with regard to procurement, contract coordination and bid evaluation. • Will do inter-departmental level studies, improvement projects and focus in areas and problems common to all plants. • Should provide technical support for the production departments and cover for technical positions within Operation Division. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized University • Minimum 8 Years of experience in a large scale Ammonia/Urea plant within Fertilizer Industry. • Good experience in carrying out various chemical engineering calculations with hands on experience on specialized tools (like Aspen Plus/Hysys simulation, HTFS/HTRI). • Ability to conduct Techno-Economic Feasibility studies on new ideas/projects. 11. TRAINING COORDINATOR – ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT The position is responsible to perform the following: • To facilitate and ensure appropriate guidance and counseling of trainees in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering disciplines. • To facilitate, guide and manage the implementation of the Company’s Vocational Education and Training Programs for Qatari National employees and trainees. • To facilitate, guide and manage the implementation of the Company’s Post-Qualification Practical Training for graduate Qatari National employees. • To Facilitate and administer pre-assessments for candidate trainees. • To participate in the identification of candidates for development in the Electrical / Instrumentation disciplines. • To participate in setting and implementing training and development standards for workplace learning. • Assist line managers / supervisors in identifying training and development needs. • To manage training and development information systems for trainees. • Comply with all relevant Qafco Management system and procedure. Requirements: • An interest and passion for contributing to the development of talent. • Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering). • Minimum 10 years technical work experience in the Oil / Gas / Petrochemical industry. • Experience & involvement in implementing vocational education and training programs / on-the-job-development-programs for college and university graduate will be an advantage. • Strong working knowledge of the following training and development areas-of-expertise: o Career planning & talent management o Coaching and mentoring o Delivery training o Designing training o Measuring and evaluation. • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Arabic will be an advantage. 12. MAINTENANCE PLANNING ENGINEER The position is responsible to perform the following: • Develop plans for periodic, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimum production reliability. • Develop and implement plans for planned major shutdowns and unforeseen shutdowns. • Keep informed of new IT Developments. • Keep the concerned informed of the activities and progress against plans to enable monitoring and co-ordination of overall maintenance activities. • Be aware of technological developments in the area of responsibility. • Comply with all relevant Qafco Management Systems. • Requirements: • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Maintenance/Planning function within an oil/gas industry. • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, modern planning programs and use of spreadsheets and word processing programs. • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. • Good knowledge of manpower allocation, assignment, and planning with the skill of optimizing the man-hour utilization. 13. FIELD OPERATORS – UREA The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of different units/areas of the Urea plants. The prospective candidate should possess Diploma level education, minimum 5 years experience in the process operation of Urea and DCS Operation. Candidates having experience in Petrochemical industries with extensive knowledge in DCS Operation will also be considered. 14. FIELD OPERATORS – MELAMINE The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of different units/areas of the Melamine plants. The prospective candidate should possess Diploma level education, minimum 5 years experience in the process operation of Urea/Melamine and DCS Operation. Candidates having experience in Petrochemical industries with extensive knowledge in DCS Operation will also be considered. 15. FIELD OPERATORS – AMMONIA/UTILITY The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of different units/areas of the Ammonia plants. The prospective candidate should possess Technical High School level education, minimum 5 years experience in the process operation of Ammonia and DCS Operation. Candidates having experience in Petrochemical industries with extensive knowledge in DCS Operation will also be considered. 16. ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER (EO) Job / Role Description: • The role of Environmental Officer will be responsible for assisting Environmental Engineers in daily operations on environmental activities. • The role holder should be a key part of environmental monitoring programs. • EO will be responsible for environmental technical support within QAFCO premises. • Assist in environmental legal compliance issues and support Environmental Engineer in following up the environmental projects, EIAs, license renewals, and clearances. • Follow up day to day environmental monitoring activities / services within the rest of the organization and support Environmental Engineer during the waste management activity and related jobs. • EO will be responsible for conducting routine environmental and occupational hygiene observations within QAFCO premises and prepare the observation report. • EO will support the Environment Engineer is procurement activities, planning and conducting environmental awareness programs. • The candidate should have good command over English (spoken as well as written) and computer literate. Minimum Qualifications & Experience • Technical academic education with a Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Health or Biological Science. • 5 years experience in the field of Environmental Monitoring activity.
