Use it or Lose It! What?............ Its your safe combination. Many people have gun safes with a key locking dial. Rather than fully dialing their combination they leave the safe in what is called day lock mode. This is when the combination is dialed in and then before the lock is fully unlocked they simply lock the dial with the key. This way they can get in quickly by just using the key and turning the dial a partial turn. DONT DO THIS! This lessens the security of a gun safe dramatically plus after doing this for a period of time the owner usually forgets the combination of the safe. Sooner or later the dial will get turned too far and then the safe is really locked (the way it should be) BUT no one can remember the combination. A common occurrence! I get a few calls every year when this scenario plays out. I can get them opened and back in service with a new combination but wouldnt you really want to spend that money on something else?
