V.I.Ps: VAGABONDS IN POWER: GEJ AND THE PDP BRIGANDS The unfortunate incident of the National Assembly, yesterday Thursday, 20th November, 2014 brought back the memories of erstwhile KING OF THE KALAKUTA KINGDOM- Fela Anikulapokuti. He was the one who gave the famous, sarcastic translation of the V.I.P. NORMALLY rendered into full meaning, the acronym VIP usually translate into Very Important Personality. But Fela, a social critic and social activist in his own right, and also personified in a bizarre musician (at least in the 70s and 80s), gave it the sarcastic as well as euphemistic meaning as, VAGABONDS IN POWER. Fela was being critical of the government officials of those days, who compared with the gangsters of today, embodied in the so-called biggest party in Africa - the PDP, can easily pass for sainthood. THE INCIDENT at the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY on Thursday was the invariable result of impunity, misrule and brigandage. These are the trademarks of the government being presided over by the shoeless village boy. Once again, the administration of GEJ has not only dragged NIGERIAS reputation into the mud, but has projected us to the world as a country of barbarians. If FELA were alive today, he would have, perhaps, given us another euphemistic meaning to the word, PRESIDENCY, or the acronym, PDP. LET US REVIEW THE IRRESPONSIBLE AND SHAMELESS actions of the VAGABONDS over the few months: 1. The Vagabonds failed to bring back the Chonok girls. Instead they brought that Pakistani small girl that has been projected into a propaganda toy- MALALALALALA. AND this man GEJ, gave her a Presidential reception. This was an insult and also an assault to our collective conscience and sensibilities. 2. The VAGABONDS failed to undertake a Presidential visit to Chibok to console the helpless people, they instead invited them to the VILLA. To give them toshiyar baki ( bribe) in paltry sums, because in the mentality of the brigands, money can have the same value with human life. 3. The Vagabonds have failed woefully to protect the common people in the Northeast who have been killed internecinely and persistently by the BOKO HARAM, but they would always organize a ground-breaking and spectacular protection for the alleged sponsor of BOKO Haram, Ali Modu Sheriff. 4. The Vagabonds closed the Maiduguri airport for security reasons and prevented airlifting of Umrah Pilgrims in Ramadan, but made it open for their fellow brigand- Ali Modu Sherriff . 5. The Vagabonds have failed to mobilize the necessary security apparatus to fight the insurgency for five years now, but could organize an armada to terrorize people in Ekiti to lay siege to the State and conduct charade called election. 6. The Vagabonds removed the security details of the Speaker of the House of Reps, because he defected to the opposition party, but they would always provide spectacular and monumental security protection to Ali Modu Sheriff who is not a government official but he only defected to PDP from the APC. 7. And now, the. VAGABONDS have failed to secure the Norteast even with the so-called State of Emergency, and are seeking extension for it. Remember, people are safer in other parts of the country where there is no State of Emergency. And an irony of some sorts is that rather than going to face the insurgents, the terror apparatus of the Vagabonds are unleashing terror against the members of the Legislative arm of government because they knew they would not do their bidding. 8. But the mother of all ironies is that as far as the VAGABONDS are concerned, MIGHT IS RIGHT. So, they would want the House of Reps.to convene and impeach TAMBUWAL, because he defected, but they would not allow the House to convene now because it would not approve their request for the extension of their killer instrument/agenda- the State of emergency. And spout of desperation, they mobilize their apparatus of brigandage, impunity and terror to molest,humiliate and terrify and also terrorize the Honurable Speaker, the No.4 Citizen in the country and his colleagues. Thus was a real and blatant act of desperation. So in addition to FELAs VAGABONDS IN POWER, they can as well be called, IGNOBLE DESPERADOES.
