Credit Manager Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer Major Responsibilities and Duties • The Credit Manager is responsible for ensuring the profitability and quality of the loan prtifolio and the quality of service • Oversee the resolution of credit problems with appropriate techniques guiding and supporting operations staff • Responsible for business product and process review • Ensuring 100% compliance to policies and procedures • Provide ongoing training to the credit team • Motivating loan officers Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Minimum qualification of degree in Business Administration or any social sciences discipline. Negotiating, and influencing skills • Excellent communications and presentation skills, to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing. • Those in the Microfinance and banking sector will have added advantage • Applicants must be committed Christians. 2 Marketing and Integration Coordinator Reporting to the Marketing and Integration and Integration Manager Major Responsibilities and Duties • Assist in preparing and implement marketing strategy • Assist on managing and generating all technical product information to be applied to all aspects of marketing • Training of clients and staff • Work with the MIM to prepare a core brand strategy and apply this into appropriate media • Assist in market research to support and define brand and marketing strategy • Understanding the position of VFM in the market and of competitors • Research new market areas • And any other duties that may be assigned by the MIM from time to time Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or CIM Professional Diploma. • Must have at least 3 years hands on marketing experience in a busy environment. Microfinance experience will be a plus • Mature and committed Christian; • Good research, analytical and report writing skills. • Ability to conceptualize and evaluate new ideas and new business opportunities. • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Good computer appreciation skills. 3. Human Resource and Administration Officer Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager Major Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to: • Assist in the recruitment process within VisionFund Malawi • Facilitate travel requirements for all employees • Proper personnel records management • Maintain leave and absence records for employees. • Facilitate the procurement functions of the office supplies • Ensure that all utilities (water, electricity, security, telephone, office rentals) and office supplies are paid at the end of the month. • Ensure that items in stores are replenished in a timely manner and that records are properly updated. • Ensure efficient use, and maintenance and service of vehicles and office equipments Maintenance of a fixed assets register • Ensure that all personal files are up to date and have complete information. • Assist in managing the Our People database • Assist in ensuring that all staff have signed the policies and have been filed in personal files. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Minimum qualification of degree or diploma in Business Administration or Human Resource Management • Knowledge of human resource practices and a minimum of three years experience. • Understanding of HR and Administration technical areas, such as compensation and benefits, employment, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and staff development. • Must have an outstanding interpersonal, communication and cross-cultural skills. • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written, in a clear, effective manner. • Applicants must be committed Christians. 4. Risk and Compliance Officer Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer Major Responsibilities and Duties • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. • Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues. • Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies. • Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues, or dilemmas, or report irregularities. • Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues. • Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required. • Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization; • Risk assessment, which involves analyzing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business; • Risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organization’s previous handling of risks; • Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders; • Carrying out processes such as purchasing insurance, implementing health and safety measures and making business continuity plans to limit risks and prepare for if things go wrong; • Maintain a Risk register of the organization • Implement the Disaster Risk Plan (DRP) • Assist in coming up with the Risk appetite statement for the organization • Compile periodic reports to Senior Management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Minimum qualification of degree in Accounting or any social sciences discipline. Management Accountant Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer Major Responsibilities • Assist in Managing VISIONFUND Malawi treasury to ensure profitable operations and compliance with existing regulations; • Assist in Supervising the accounting and liquidity management functions of the institution Main tasks include but not limited to: • Preparation of comprehensive and accurate financial statements and operational reports in accordance with reporting requirements • Participating in preparations of budgets and ensure that funds are spent on eligible lines and as intended. • Provide support to Head Office and the Branches in preparation of the business plan and preparation and monitoring of the annual operating plans and budgets; • Establish, review, and update financial policies and procedures that are relevant and cost effective to the organization; • Assist with setting up objectives and recommending strategies for enhancing self suistainability/ profitability at Branch and organizational level. • Working with the Risk and Compliance Officer in relation to establishing broad guidelines for the institution’s tolerance for risk, and expectations from investment etc • Introduction of measures to enhance the credibility and objectivity of financial statements and reports prepared with reference to the affairs of VISIONFUND Malawi; • Assisting in measuring and controlling the institution’s funding requirements; periodic assessment of liabilities and liability holders; Exploring borrowing arrangements as need may rise Ensures that there is adequate control of cash and other assets (budgetary management and control) according to laid down policies, both in the head office and the branches; Education/Experience • Preferably Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification. However those in the Final stages of ACCA or CIMA and have considerable experience will also be considered. • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution of Higher learning • A minimum of 2 years in the field of finance management and accounting. • Those from Financial Services Sector will have added advantage • Very good analytical skills • The applicant must be a committed christian 6. FINANCE OFFICER Reporting to Financial Accountant Major Duties and Responsibilities • Responsible for the production of comprehensive, accurate financial statements and operational reports in accordance with reporting requirements. • Participate in the preparation of proposal budgets, ensuring that financial reports are timely and accurate and ensuring that funds are spent on eligible items and as intended. • Assist with internal and external auditors (audit preparation and implementation of internal and external audit findings) • Assist in the implementation of an effective budgeting process, in collaboration with all the departments, to control expenditures and support operational decisions. • Maintain a track record of all institution’s physical assets and ensure proper usage of the same. • Assist with objectives and recommend strategies for enhancing self-sufficiency / profitability Assist in preparation of Profitability reports. • Assist in Monitoring of cash flows and advise management as need be • Check on daily bank balance and exchange rate and advise on any replenishments • Preparation of bank / general ledger reconciliations • To coordinate the functions of finance and operations departments at branch level, timely disbursements of loan to client, monitor and reconcile data captured between sun system and loan tracking system • Taking of responsibilities as and when determined and delegated by management from time to time. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Minimum of three years work experience in a well set Finance function • Good acumen in finance and accounting as well as working knowledge in a Microfinance or banking operations • Excellent communication, good analytical skills, computing skills preferably with working knowledge of Sun system and Loan tracking system • Must be a committed Christian 7. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT Reporting to Finance Officer Major Duties and Responsibilities • Ensure effective branch financial accountability • Ensure accounting books and records are properly maintained and filled • Encoding of data into the MIS • Performance of the end of day and month procedures • Conducting daily banking of loan recoveries Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Good acumen in finance and accounting as well as working knowledge in banking operations • Good analytical skills • Excellent communication, computing and marketing skills • Must be a committed Christian • Minimum of three years work experience preferably in MFI • Minimum qualification of Advanced Diploma or Certificate in Accounting 8. DATA ENTRY CLERK Reporting to MIS Coordinator Major Responsibilities and Duties • Ensure that all loan applications are accurately and completely captured in the system immediately they are received and checked by management. • Ensure that all information on the loan application form are captured in the Loan Processing system with accuracy • Ensure that all the loans are cleared in the LPF system in readiness for the preparation of monthly periodical management reports. • Ensure that all the loan application forms are signed and checked by the loans committee prior to their getting processed and the necessary documentation. • Assist the Operations Department staff sort out simple queries that relate to the loan processing system • Ensure that all queries from Outlets and Loan Officers are attended to on timely basis. • Timely reporting of issues identified in loan performer to respective heads of department. • Filing of all documents used in MIS Department. Knowledge Skills and Abilities • Diploma in Accounting, Typing skills, those with experience in any Microfinance Loan Tracking System and have worked in a similar position before will have an added advantage.
