VIA OGUN WATERSIDE ASSEMBLY Update On EFCC Arrest And Fraud In Ogun Waterside Local Government The allegations leveled against Ogun Waterside Local Government HOLGA,Engr Tunde Ashiru and Treasurer,Mr Adeyanju Akinyemi ranging from payment without voucher,continue payment of ghost workers,payment of illicit monthly imprest,payment of duplicated salary,payment of illegal leave bonus and so on. The Sleuth of Ogun Waterside assembly revealed that the above sleaze has been going on unabated under the nose of Alhaji Tunde Rufai. On the 17th of June,2013;forme r internal auditor of Ogun Waterside Local Government, Alhaji I G Alaka raised alarm over the series of financial malpractices going on in the Local Government, but was muzzled by the cabal in the local government with query. The office of the internal auditor was established to provide continuous audit of the Local Government accounts in order to detect as early as possible and a stop to an attempt to financial misappropriation and embezzlement of the Local Government fund. Ogun Waterside assembly sleuth gathered that the former Local Government auditor,I G Alaka was prevented from carrying out his responsibilities,as stated above,by the cashier of the Local Government,Mrs Bukola Ogundile who claimed to be acting on the instructions of her boss,the treasurer of the Local Government, Mr Adeyanju Akinyemi on Tuesday 28th of May,2013. Our sleuth further informed us that the former auditor was illegaly prevented from carrying out his constitutional responsibilitie s in order to cover up all the malpractices perpetrated by the HOLGA, Treasurer and their co travellers in Ogun Waterside Local Government. The de facto Ogun Waterside local Government boss,Engr Tunde Ashiru has been paying over N4 million to the ghost workers,on a monthly basis,for the past 20 months with the de jure local Government chairman,Tunde Rufai looking helpless. A screening committee led by Hon Dipo Ikuenomore was constituted, in the last quarter of last year,by the Local Government to ascertain the total number of staff in the Local Government and unravel ghost worker used by the Carrier officers and their cohorts in the Local Government to drain the purse of the Local Government. The report of the committee was swept under the carpet because it indicted the Local Government chairman,Alhaji Tunde Rufai,HOLGA,Engr Tunde Ashiru,the treasurer,Mr Adeyanju Akinyemi and others.
