VIRGIN GALACTIC PILOT DIES IN TEST FLIGHT When you have more than 400 companies, inevitably you are going to be always in the news for one reason or another. Today is a sad day for entrepreneur (and my personal inspiration and super hero) #RichardBranson. One of #VirginGalactics pilots has been killed during a test flight over the #Mojave Desert, while trying a new fuel in the engine, one that burns a polyamide-based plastic grain. Another pilot has been seriously injured. Shortly after igniting the engine, the vehicle broke apart in flight and crashed. #Innovation is often a long, bumpy and very expensive road. But it is thanks to these innovations and to the risks that these pioneers take that we can then enjoy many of the comforts of everyday life. But inventions and advancements in #science frequently come at a high cost, sometimes including the loss of life. The bigger the dreams the higher the risks. Richard Bransons dream is to start a whole new era of commercial #space travel. He has poured millions of his own money in the development of the technology and #aircraft to bring about this new age. Many other entrepreneurs are also investing massively in inventing the future. However, it is not easy. This is the second private space mission to end catastrophically this week, by the way. On Tuesday, an #Antares rocket produced by Orbital Sciences exploded seconds after liftoff in Virginia while on a #NASA-contracted supply mission to the #InternationalSpaceStation. But while these are certainly setbacks, nothing can stop human curiosity and ingenuity.
