VISION FOR A BETTER SOUTH SUDAN South Sudans politics is deeply rooted in tribalism just like any other African Country. In everyday discussion there are questions like; why should the Dinka rule us for many years? Why not us Nuer? How about us Equatorian? And so many other complaints on tribal line. Then, the West intervenes and uses this tribalism for its advantage. So I am thinking of legalising this tribalism. WRITING A TRIBAL CONSTITUTION: This constitution will abolish use of western democracy based on political parties and replaced it with an African democracy based on political tribes. After every five years, one of our tribes will sit and elect a person to be the president of the country. For example; when the chance is for the Dinka, all the people of the tribe across the country will go for election and elect the president. The other tribes will make their local elections for their States and counties based on the same tribal constitution. When the chance is not for a particular tribe, they will have hope that after five years or on a particular year the chance is coming for them. They will be busy counting their fingers as to how many years are gone and how many more are left for them to take the country’s Presidency. National Assembly seats will remain on constituencies. They will no longer be called SPLM or UDF or whatever party, they will now come as representatives of the people of their areas. When they don’t deliver, then it is the people of that particular area that will hold their representative accountable. The SPLA and other security organs will only defend this constitution not a particular person or tribe. The west will not penetrate into our politics anymore. When they come with their issue of why are this particular tribe ruling for long, that tribe will only reply our chance is coming soon. What do you think?
