VP Mujuru opens SADC labour meeting: The SADC Extra-Ordinary Meeting for Ministers and Social Partners Responsible for Labour has been officially opened in Victoria Falls amid calls to prioritise youths and women in formulation of employment creation strategies. With more than 60 percent of the population in the region involved in low paying jobs, issues of poor working conditions, participation of the private sector and promotion of regional integration as a strategy for employment in the region have taken centre stage at the meeting. Officially opening the conference in the resort town of Victoria Falls, Vice President Joice Mujuru said the region has to work and move together to work towards standardisation of labour practices across frontiers.
