VUUYA Leadership Elections are here! This online bit is for UUYAs (both in and out of Virginia) who are interested in VUUYA programming continuing but are unable to vote in person at the conference this weekend. Here is a general description of the Leadership. (The responsibilities re: specific positions are part of the online ballot.) All Leadership Members have input on final business meeting agendas, attend business meetings either in person or virtually, have a say in discussions in and between meetings, and are included in votes in and between meetings. Part of the purpose of having the Leadership is to oversee policies and procedures, do outreach, and look after VUUYAs present and future generally. Another part is to ensure that the beginnings of the person-power necessary to plan and coordinate an annual VUUYA con are in place. The Leadership Members come up with the con theme in cooperation with the Community. The Leadership is then responsible for contacting congregations in order to secure dates and a site for the con. All of the VUUYA Leadership Members who want to be on the Con-Planning Team for the annual VUUYA con are welcome. The Con-Planning Team is a separate entity made up of Leadership Members and at least one YA from the host congregation if that congregation does not already have someone on the Leadership. The Team recruits additional con planners and/or people to help with singular, specific con-planning tasks. The VUUYA Leadership may choose to help fund, plan, and coordinate conferences in cooperation with other groups. All Leadership Members who want to plan and coordinate other, non-con programming are welcome.
