Vacancy announcement The International Leadership University Burundi (ILU Burundi) is offering a position of Financial Manager to suitable candidate. Terms of reference for the Finance Manager Position Position title: Finance Manager Duty station: Bujumbura, Burundi Reports to: Vice Chancellor Key Activities and Responsibilities • Ensuring effective strategic and operational financial planning • Monitoring and reporting to enhance the decision making process of ILU management • Overall management of organization accounts • Monitoring, reviewing and improving internal controls • Keeping abreast of and reporting on changes in, and implications of, statutory requirements • Coordination of the organization accounting and financial functions. • Supervising the accountant and the accountant function • Ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement of cheques to creditors • Provide advice and guidance to the management on financial and accounting matters, including keeping abreast of changes in financial and accounting regulations and legislation. • Ensure timely submissions of statutory returns to the regulatory authorities. • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial aspects, and grants accounting • Analysis of the financial position of the organization, and report to the Senior management /Board appropriately. • Preparation of the budgets, forecasts and monthly financial reports in accordance with ILU board and stakeholder requirements. • Report fund disbursements and expenses in a timely manner in accordance with ILU policies, procedures and requirements. • Cash flow planning and management, including monitoring of bank balance to ensure vendors are paid on time, and monitoring cash flow to guarantee adequate availability of funds. • Oversee financial management and inventory control including monitoring ordering, cash receipts, petty cash management, • Advise Senior Management on suggested requirements and improvements • Maintain the organization’s accounting information systems and records. • Plan and ensure efficient use of the company’s finances. • Monitor the costing and management accounting functions including budgets and forecast. • Ensure compliance by use of appropriate accounting systems, standards and procedures. • Direct and supervise the functions of the finance department including the stores • Formulation of finance policies to ensure proper utilization of organization financial resources. • Prepare monthly payroll. • Other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor Qualifications & skills • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Bachelor in accounting with relevant years of finance management experience. • Languages: English, French, Kiswahili- Fluent • Microsoft Office: Proficient • QuickBooks,Tempos, Sage, Solomon: Proficient, • Strong leadership and motivational skills • Strong analytical, modelling and reporting skills • Superb verbal and written communication skills Experience 6 years progressive work experience gained in a similar role and capacity Experience working with academic institutions.
