Vacation disaster averted! I went on VRBO and found this great vacation rental on the beach in Maui, booked flights, and was about to wire the owner a small fortune. However the spelling of the owners name, Issaac, looked odd so at the last moment I decided to do a little investigation. I found the address of the property and did a title search. I found out who the current owner is and we had a conversation. He had never heard of Issaac. I was very, very lucky. This Issaac had many fantastic photos of the home on his listing, and it was, after all, listed on VRBO. Do not send money to anyone unless you go through the VRBO site itself. Be very careful people!
