Vance County Schools Exam Schedule Released First semester exams begin this Wednesday, January 7, and continue through Friday, January 16, at Northern Vance, Southern Vance and Western Vance high schools. The Early College High School completed its first semester exams December 15-19, prior to the Christmas break. The high school exam schedule includes: · January 7: English III N.C. Final Exams and teacher made exams for first and third-period classes at NVHS and SVHS · January 8: Civics and Economics N.C. Final Exams and teacher made exams for second and fourth-period classes and make-up exams from the previous day at NVHS and SVHS · January 9: American History I N.C. Final Exams and make-up exams from the previous day at NVHS and SVHS · January 12: NVHS and SVHS 8-11:30 a.m. - First-period N.C. End-of-Course (EOCs) exams for Math 1, Biology and all English II classes and make-up exams from the previous day 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Lunch 12:30 p.m. – Students dismissed if their exams are completed for the day 12:30-3 p.m. – First-period Career and Technical Education (CTE) Post Assessment/N.C. Final Exams (NCFE) 3 p.m. – Students dismissed · January 12: WVHS First-period English II N.C. During the exam period at the high schools, all other schools will operate on a normal schedule. The first semester of the school year ends on Friday, January 16, except at Early College High School which ended its first semester on December 19. All schools and school system offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21, are teacher workdays at all schools, except Early College High School. There will be no school for students on these days. The second semester of the school year begins on Thursday, January 22, except at Early College High School which will begin its second semester on Thursday, January 8.
