Veeeery interesting article. If you`re like me, it`s a bit embarrassing to read it, though.. oops, I guess I do that, don`t I?....erm..... *blushes* I think part of what makes us (I use us because it feels more comfortable to hide in a group than to use I) self-indulgent and bragging etc. on Facebook is just that that is the culture of Facebook. People show off on Facebook, in the same way that at least some people (or, to specify, women) take off their shirts during AC/DC concerts. So I think in some way we`re innocent and Facebook makes us do things we wouldn`t necessarily do in the real world. Even though I do remember joint diaries from my teenage years, diaries I shared with my friends where all of us wrote down the pre-virtual reality equivalent of FB status messages.
