Vegan seems to mean many things to many people. But to me (a vegan of 36 years), its the original intent; animal rights. I am also an environmentalist and see that eating a plant based diet is something everyone should do to help save our planet. Veganism, however, extends beyond diet and is a stance of non participation in exploiting and harming animals. Whether people want to hear it or not, it is our duty to speak up for our animal cousins; other sentient beings and get people to see that it is totally unjust to use animals as commodities when we humans can live vegan. Its really beyond unjust - its despicable and comparable to slavery or the holocaust. ~ M Butterflies Katz
