Vent alert! As a mom, I want to share an example of the micromanagement currently inhibiting Charter Oak School. Wizard of Oz Play this afternoon, so I called to get the new & mandatory permission & approval to enter the building @ 1:15pm (per drama instructor). The Assistant Principal promptly called me back to say that I could come, however, she would prefer it be 1:45. That is when they will start dismissing kids into the gym. I explained that Bella needs to be painted green, hair frizzed out & press on nails would be to be applied to her fingers as she will be turning into the wicked witch of the West. I also said that maybe the teacher would like me there to help out with other students? She firmly said she would talk to the teacher & she thinks 1:45 is still best for me to come into the school. Seriously? The best part of the equation is that I know my daughter eats lunch at 1pm & is in a double recess from 1:15 to 1:45pm. So Bella would only be missing a recess. This is how the last 4 months have been at Charter Oak.
