Verse for this week: Isaiah 64:8-9 “Yet, O lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter. Do not be angry beyond measure, O Lord; do not remember our sins for ever. Oh, look upon us we pray, for we are all your people.” Jerusalem was desolate, the people were in desperation yet the prophet opens up the prospect of hope. There are for all of us times of distress and desolation. Sometimes these can be opportunities for the Lord to do something new, but the process may be challenging. “Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me”. Courage brother, courage sister, the Lord has not finished with you, you are a work in progress, and the purpose is to bring glory to him. (RS)
