Very funny story today (well at east SIA thought it was funny)....lightening speed dash into Veronika Maine to browse the new pretties. The SA pounces on me as soon as i cross the threshold with a chirpy almost sing-songy Are you special occasion shopping today? I have heard Are you looking for something special/in particular? but I have never heard the syntax special occasion shopping used by an SA like that previously. I jumped a touch & if you recall previous posts, one of the SIA MANTRAs is Death to occasion shopping unless its your kids wedding or a date with George Clooney. The way to build good wardrobe is to understand what you need/want & buy it when you dont, so you have it when you do. Occasion shopping is a wardrobe disaster prelude. So I said to the SA: Absolutely no way - I hate occasion shopping. I said it passionately. I meant every word. With every shopping bone in my body. Poor thing -she wasnt sure what to make of me. A few minutes later she approached and said something like if youre looking for something at the last minute, its never there, is it? Amen to that.
