Very interesting argument. If religious conversion is banned but religious practice is non interfered. Will it be non secular and opresssive? I am not a religious person but I feel offended when people say that my religion is the only way. I dont care what you practice or do, but I live my life with and without religion depending on a day. I consider religious symbols more as tradition which define my culture and less as the only path to attain GOD. I believe you can only reach GOD if it exists through good deeds. I think despite modernity, culture is the most important aspect which defines at least who you were and what your fellow family members were or are. And I think preserving and feeling proud of the roots is critical for you to feel complete.
