Very sad day at work today as the reality of the cuts to the international service start to surface. 80 jobs to go. As one colleague said, they have ripped the heart out of Radio Australia. Only one out of five key programs to stay and other services to be reduced by half. Morale is very low. A sad day for all of us. Our best instrument to foster engagement with the region has been decimated. Now Rupert Murdoch will be the face of Australia in Asia.
