Veterans Day. It is difficult to express the feeling of gratitude - TopicsExpress

Veterans Day. It is difficult to express the feeling of gratitude that is felt when someone I do not know thanks me for my service. It is equally difficult to respond. A simple youre welcome seem inadequate. I have over the years said your welcome, replied with Thank you. But now I always say Its my privilege . So many have gone before us, and many more will serve after. I am extremely proud to be a member of the armed forces of the United States of America. I am proud to be amongst my brothers and sisters in arms. I have the honor to continue a lineage of service to our country. I share company with my grandfather Charles C. Morrison US Navy WWII, my grandfather Daniel C. Quilty US Navy USS Riddle WWII, my father Tex C. Morrison US Air Force Vietnam (miss you Pops) ,and my father in-law William P. Welch US Air Force Vietnam. Both of my sons now serve Chris followed the Army tradition of service and serves in the Florida Army Guard and Andrew starts his service following his great grandfathers foot steps as he leaves for Basic Training with the US Navy. I cannot express how proud we are of you both. While most people fear for the future of our nation and this generation, I have profound confidence that this nation with thrive and the freedoms we hold will be protected. As a recruiter I have the opportunity to see the best of this generation step up to the plate and swear their oath of service. I have seen the commissioning of our future leaders and see the commitment to this country alive in their eyes. There are still those among us that will stand and answer their nations call. When they do, I will proudly embrace my new brothers and sisters and welcome them to our family. To all I have served with, Thank you! Stay safe and I will see you on the high ground.
