Video taken by myself (Thomas Philip) on 20/12/2014. Enjoy travelling broad guage train route Visakhapatnam -Jagdalpur-Kirandul route. This route was made with the help of Japanese as they needed the finest Iron ores of Bailadila (Kirandul) Iron ore mines. Hats off for the Japanese who made this route almost 65 years back as they did not had the latest machines for digging almost 45-50 tunnels under the mountains as we have today...I feel pity on the Politicians and leaders because since then no other train route has been developed by the Govt. in this tribal belt of Bastar Division which is bigger than the Kerala State. How could you think of development without train routes / cheap modes of transport. This route is good for tourists.for sight seeing as Araku valley comes in this way and Jagdalpur is also a tourist place. Only thing one should take care is to pack the breakfast and lunch packets for the way as you dont get quality food at the small stations coming on the route.
