View Road to be subdivided into 1 acre blocks, resulting in the creation of approximately 100 blocks. This is at odds with last weeks attempt to allow Becker Helicopters to establish a flight training school. The land from Beck Road south to Sea Eagles Road has 187 x 5 acre blocks that were developed in the late 60s. Since I arrived in Hervey Bay in 1973 the population has gone from approximately 7000 to I believe 70,000 without any heavy industry. The Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce, developers and the council have promoted the area as the lifestyle capital of the region, with all the benefits that it has to offer. So why now change your promotion to add an industry that will affect the very people that we encourage to make Hervey Bay home, the Mayor and the present Chamber of Commerce are wrong, why damage the brand Hervey Bay.
