Views sought on Fire Brigade HQ redevelopment proposals A SPECIAL meeting will be held in Hartlepool next month to discuss proposals for the redevelopment of Cleveland Fire Brigade’s current headquarters on the town’s Queens Meadow Business Park. The Brigade’s existing headquarters building is no longer viable and therefore plans have been drawn up to replace it with one which is fit for purpose and to bring a number of non-operational facilities and resources onto the one site. The proposed new development would house a Learning and Development Centre, External Training Resources, Administration and Management Services and a Technical Resources Centre. Cleveland Fire Brigade has approached Hartlepool Council to request a Pre-Application Developer Forum to discuss the project. This will take place on Wednesday 5th November at 9am in Committee Room B in the Civic Centre. Pre-Application Developer Forums are part of the Council’s One Stop Shop pre-application advisory service which provides advice on planning matters prior to the submission of a formal planning application. At the meeting there will be an opportunity for councillors and other interested parties such as the Parish Council to seek clarification on any points or raise issues. Members of the public are welcome to attend the Forum and listen to the proceedings but are not able to ask questions. Jane Tindall, Hartlepool Council’s Planning Officer, said: “The Forum meetings enable any potential developers to present their planning proposals prior to the submission of a formal planning application. “We must emphasise that this is not an opportunity for people to object to the proposal. It is an opportunity for councillors and interested parties to seek clarification or raise planning issues which should be considered by the developer in any formal planning submission.” Any interested party wishing to participate in the Forum should contact Gill Scanlon in the Council’s Planning Team on 01429 523741 or [email protected] advance of the Forum.
