Visited Big Buddha temple in Phuket and another one of Thailands oldest temple. Magical experience although on the way back was saddened by the elephants chained up by their owners to be used for animal tourism. So I would just like to remind anyone who decides to go elephant trekking in Thailand, India or any other country please be aware that our beautiful, majestic creatures are tortured and abused so you can have your one hour of amusement. A Thai lady friend told me a mamma elephant cried when her child was stripped away from her to be used for tourism . Please make conscious decisions and have an open heart before participating in such animal cruelty. They belong at home, in the jungle. Period. On a lighter note, off to Nakhon today to see the real Thailand...:)
