Volunteers of all ages are needed: The 28th Annual Great Lakes Beach Sweep will be held on Saturday, September 21st 2013 from 10:00 AM to Noon as part of the International Coastal Cleanup. Last year’s cleanup was a great success. With 916 volunteers of all ages reporting from Woodlawn State Park to Westfield, New York, everyone learned a great lesson and became environmentalist for the day. In New York State there were a total of 5,645 volunteers that cleaned 244+ miles of shoreline, removing 62,633lbs. of debris in 24 counties. You can help out at any shoreline you wish. The base will be at Woodlawn State Park and a picnic will be provided for all volunteers. (Free admission and free parking.) Bring your family and friends and help in this International event to help clean our shoreline. Students are more than welcome. If you need volunteer hours or a certificate of attendance, please join us.
