WADLATA.......What a great bunch of pics. We left Wallaroo in sunshine, stopped at Port Pirie amongst the sun and the Tin Man. Arrived Port Augusta 11-30, which was spot on Waynes timing. Lunch amongst the sunshine and blue skies. We thought we were heading to gale force winds and rain, but the sun shone on us all day. Wadlata is an amazing place and wonderful following the path around with the frogs croaking, the kook - a - burra, laughing and all the sounds of nature in the bush. I am always mesmerised with fossils and find them so amazing. One of the dreamtime stories of How The Moon came to be, was so interesting and made perfect sense to me. Such a tall tree to climb and then for the dad to reach up into the sky and his hand formed the moon, excellent. Jenny, Ross and I went back in time also riding the old carriages of The Ghan, but at one stage Ross got off of the train and was left sitting on a seat waiting for the next train. I think we got him back? lol We saw approximately 14 Police cars on the way up and in Port Augusta, so many, but then they all could have been driving around the same block. lol However we did see 3 heading towards Wallaroo way, so hope you lot back in the Copper Triangle were behaving yourselves. Time to head for home, us lot in the back did the game, sitting on different seats to allieviate different aches and pains in different spots, but it made the trip more interesting as we all had a different person next to us. Out onto the main road to Port Pirie, the winds and rains that we had missed going up, caught up with us and the little wheels on the little bus made for some hard driving, but we did have Ross as the anchor man on the back seat to stop us getting air born. Wallaroo silos came into view and we said our goodbyes and our thanks and took off in different directions Before we knew it, the time came to leave out of bus, into cars and heading for our homes to wind down and smile at the day we had in Our Cultural Tour of Wadlata. Thankyou to Wayne and Sue for the driving, Fran for directions in and around the big smoke. Rocky for all his photo shoots, he took so many pictures and is a dab hand at it now. And thankyou to all sharing this trip, tour and terrific day out, I thoroughly enjoyed it all, perhaps when two people started singing, Harry Belafontes Song, Can not remember the name of it, but it went like this, day - oh, day-day-o, daylight come and I wanna go home. It started to loose its sweetness. lol
