WALK IN ACCEPTED..Mamayang gabi na..6:30pm to 10:30pm.. P300.00- Master Plumbers, P600.00-Other professions SYNOPSIS OF THE LECTURE ON BASIC MEPF DESIGN FOR MIX-USE BUILDING Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection practitioners are specialists, commonly referred to as MEPF“, or sometimes referred to as “MEP” only, or sometimes referred to as “MEPFS” which includes sanitary engineers (for sewage treatment) , when engaged in building design and construction. It is also known as building services engineering in some advanced countries. Mechanical engineers design and oversee the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), fire suppression/ sprinkler system (with fire pump & jockey pump), stairwell pressurization, steam lines & boilers, lift/ elevator systems. Plumbing/sanitary engineers often design or oversee lower pressure fire protection (without fire pump), hot and cold water supply system, gray water re-use, sanitary sewer lines & ventilation, LPG/gas lines, rainwater collection and storm drainage systems. Electrical engineers are responsible for the buildings power distribution & standby power generators/ uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, telecommunication, fire detection & alarm, signalization, grounding system, lightning protection, building automation systems (BAS), as well as lighting and small power (CO) systems. Since of the various equipment of the building facilities are electrically driven, at a glance, the biggest responsibility seems to be the design of the electrical portion of the MEPF systems. Usually, the HP ratings of the various motor drives must be determined in order to come up with the electrical distribution architecture schematic known us the single line riser diagram. But before this diagram is completed, these HP or KW ratings must be initially calculated by the MEPF designer and to be confirmed later prior to the construction stage with the standard manufacturers pump or fan ratings based on the performance curves of their products. This lecture aims to outline some short cut methods (such as per area method, rule of thumbs, recommended practices, etc.) in determining the loads, capacities and other requirements of air-conditioning and ventilation equipment, water pumps (for hot and cold water, sewer & sewage water, gray water, sump, heat pumps and firewater), stairwell pressurization, elevator lifts, lighting and small power loads, water heaters, standby power, FDAS, auxiliary systems (telecom/ CATV/ public address), building automation and monitoring/CCTV system, lightning protection & grounding systems, and the overall safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the building. If interested to attend this lecture, please contact the MEPF ENGINEERS Headquarters, Mezzanine Floor, 160 LL Bldg., EDSA cor Panay Ave, Quezon City. (near the QUEZON AVENUE MRT3 STATION) Pls. Call 7829086 (Manila Line) or Text/call 09275720035 for details, c/o Engineer Olympio Jun Lopez....
