** WARNING: THIS VIDEO IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK ENVIRONMENTS OR PEOPLE WHO ARE SENSITIVE TO ANIMAL CRUELTY ** Im posting this in honor of my friend Robert Pralgo. First, let me clarify - animals are my best friends. My canine friends are my children, and I will protect them with a wrath that will make national news (if someone tries to harm them). With that said, I recognize the need for hunting. Humans were born with a digestive system that processes meat for a reason. If you eat any kind of meat, you are processing animals. We should harvest animals in the most humane way possible - period. Theres no excuse for cruelty, but I recognize the need to responsibly harvest. I dont hunt, but I support those who do - as long as you eat the meat and minimize suffering. Trophy hunting is a whole other level. On the surface, killing something to hang its head on the wall FEELS wrong. When you look the facts, though, a lion hunt in Africa culls a herd in a responsible manner, and brings a huge amount of wealth (with a very low environmental impact) to an improvised area. There are similar arguments for animals harvested around the world. I dont expect soundbites to win over most of America on the topic of trophy hunting (or that well ever agree on that subject). It requires some research and openness to unpleasant facts. Its not an easy subject, but I welcome honest debate. With that said, I think hunting and harvesting is the middle ground. With all of that said, animal ABUSE is HORRIFIC. In many ways - animals are what we aspire to be. They are openly happy, sad, excited and scared. They are innocent in many ways. They demonstrate the purest of emotions. They dont hold petty differences against us. In general - they just want to get along, and enjoy our company. Ive worked in a chicken farm (seriously - go to college kids!), and have had other jobs that involved animals. Animals arent always clean, nice or friendly (kind of like people). Ultimately, I respect them for what they are, though. People who ABUSE animals, on the other hand - deserve the worst punishment we can offer. This video is NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, and NOT SAFE FOR WORK ENVIRONMENTS. While there are some practices that are captured here that DO make sense (ex: putting late term pregnant pigs in a cage where they cant eat their own babies), much of the abuse is horrifying. We should hold abusers accountable. Theres no excuse for much of what is captured here. What can we do to stop this kind of treatment? youtu.be/T48yOYjz5sk
