WAS JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED? The foundation of Christianity is the DEATH, RESURRECTION and ASCENSION of Jesus to HEAVEN! For some reasons, the Islamic religion has another believe in this matter. The Quran states Jesus was not crucified. My attention this evening is to elaborate on this whether Jesus died or not. During the time of Moses on the desert, God allowed the killing of sheep for the atonement of sins. Anyone who sins brings out animals and the blood is poured out for the forgiveness of sins. Lets check this up in the Bible. Leviticus 4:28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned. The above text shows that animal sacrificial was needed for the forgiveness of sins. This continued for longtime and since people could not stop sinning, God had to make a final sacrifice to do away with the animal sacrifices. Lets look at why the God have to change his covenants. Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Now God has to introduce a pure blood to be sacrificed for all humanity and not like a goat for a particular person. Jesus is holy. A person who never sinned for 33 years of his life. He ascended from Heaven to save humanity. Lets look at what the Bible say. 1John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. Jesus predicted his death throughout his campaign on earth. Mark 8: 31-38 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. The above verse shows that Jesus predicted his death many times in the Bible. The Bible confirms the death and resurrection of Jesus. Acts 2:23-24 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. Now, Mohammed comes in with the Quran that Jesus did not die on the cross but another man. ...They said, “We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God. They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)... (Quran, 4:157). Mohammed spoke his revelations without any evidence. The main presence of Jesus on earth was to die as he predicted a number of times. The Quran continued that And because of their saying (in boast). We killed Messiah Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah, -- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Isa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)... Jesus did a lot of miracles in the presence of his disciples to show his Lordship. Jesus 1. Healed the sick 2. Raised the dead 3. Walked on the sea 4. Spoke and the sea calmed. The disciples knew that Jesus will surely rise if he dies. For this reason, they waited patiently until the third day and met their God. Herod knew that Jesus might resurrect at the third day and even kept soldiers at the cave to prevent him from coming out. Mathew 27:62-66 62 The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63 “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ 64 So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.” 65 “Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. Even Herod knew he will rise again. For Mohammed speaking without evidence when everything including history shows, I can say categorically that JESUS DIED, ROSE AND WENT BACK TO HEAVEN. Anybody who tells you JESUS never died, just ask the person to prove it to you. God allowed John the Baptist to be beheaded, allowed Stephen to be stoned, watched whiles Paul was beheaded, was there when Christians and Jews died terribly. BRETHREN, I CONFESS JESUS TO YOU TODAY!
