WASHING DARTY LINEN ...An art project aiming to raise funds to provide better working conditions for washer-folk of Veli. I am executing a project titled Washing DArty Linen at Kochi as part of Critical Juncture,* which is a joint Indian-Polish art exhibition, a collateral of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. criticaljuncture.info/ This is a collaboration between the Vannar Sangham (co-operative of the washer-folk) and my mock corporate enterprise UNICELL. I will give them the space allocated to me in the exhibition in which they will hang the linen that is washed at the Dhobi Khana... since this project takes place during the Biennale, the linen will mostly be of the art tourist... Dont be surprised if you find your clothes hanging in the exhibition space!!
