WCRC member Jim Archacki survived cancer after a bone-marrow - TopicsExpress

WCRC member Jim Archacki survived cancer after a bone-marrow transplant from twin brother John (also a WCRC member) nearly 28 years ago. He now lives in Evansville, IN where he volunteers in the Chemo Buddies program. Here he is hobnobbing with fellow volunteer Don Mattingly, manager of the LA Dodgers and 6-Time All-Star player for the NY Yankees in the 1980s and 90s, and AL batting champion in 1984. They are buds. Although Mattingly had a relatively modest home run total as a major league player at 222, he holds the record for most Grand Slams in a single season (6), and most consecutive games hitting at least one home run (8).
