WCS2014主催者挨拶（代読：古谷徹 Toru Furuya） 英訳 - English Translation This 12th edition of the World Cosplay Summit has seen the inclusion of Taiwan and Hong Kong raising the number of participating countries and regions to a record number of 22. Aichi prefecture and Chunichi Shinbun have joined the World Cosplay Summit Executive Committee this year as well, strengthening the collaboration with local partner organizations. Furthermore, the WCS was able to bring the stage to this Aichi Arts Center, keeping the dream of a continued increase of the number of participating countries. The WCS Omotenashi Student Executive Committee, which started activities last year, has grown into a large organization, able to provide complete support to all the participating countries and regions. In this way we believe that all have been provided a warm Nagoya welcome, a unique reception that can only be appreciated in Japan. Concepts such as Inbound (tourism) or Cool Japan have recently become popular in this nation and cosplay culture too has begun to be generally recognized. This is not something that will disappear like a trend or fad. The cosplayers here have overcome various challenges with ease to participate in this cultural exchange. Japan continues to attract the attention of the world, and this is another great contribution to our country. It is duty of all of us here to protect and foster this place with caring, as well as express our gratitude. We look forward to meet even more cosplay fans in Nagoya in next year.
