WE got a new member of the family joining us this week,a black Gibson ES335 with large block inlays and crown logo,rare combo,crown logo is usually on the DOT models with dot markers on the frets,,,and block inlays are usually on the elegant custom model their for sporting the diamond logo ,this is a transition model as seen in 1963-64 when the dot disappeared and the custom came in as top gun, ,i ve always frowned on the idea of a ES anything all my life,,they always seemed like a limited and inherently flawed design, subject to feedback(bad kind) and squealing and limited fingering agility ,but ive learned what Ive been blind to for years, their not just for the Bee Gees and their not just BB kings guitar,all our favorite CREAM songs were cut on one,,not a les Paul, Alvin lee from ten years after just ripped one to hell during the Woodstock coverage in 69 on im comin home,The lightnig fast effortless action and fat voice only an ES335 can speak,silly me
