WEATHER FORECASTS FOR THE AREAS AVAILABLE TODAY AND MONDAY PART 1 Central, Tayside & Fife. Today: A blustery day with showers, these heavy at times. The showers will be most frequent through the Trossachs. Best of the sunshine in between in the east. Strong southwesterly winds, touching gale at times. Maximum Temperature 13 C. Monday: A bright day with some sunshine and a scattering of showers, though some places could well stay dry. Less windy. Maximum Temperature 13 C. EAST MIDLANDS. Early rain should soon clear eastwards to reveal sunny spells but also well-scattered blustery showers. Some of these showers may be heavy and thundery for a time before generally easing later, with individual showers soon moving through on the wind. Maximum Temperature 14 C. Monday: Exceptionally windy for a time, with squally rain or blustery showers. The strongest winds should relent into the afternoon, with the risk of blustery showers subsiding as sunny spells develop. Maximum Temperature 14 C. HIGNLANDS & EILEAN SIAR Today: The West Highlands and the Hebrides will have frequent blustery showers today, some heavy with the chance of hail and thunder. Some longer spells of rain possible. Fewer showers and more sunshine over Caithness and east. Windy, gales in south. Maximum Temperature 11 C. Monday: A bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional showers, some of these heavy. Less windy in general though strengthening northwesterlies will reach the Hebrides later. Maximum Temperature 11 C. LONDON & SOUTH EAST ENGLAND Today: Generally windy, especially in early squally rain. This soon clearing eastwards to reveal sunny spells but also isolated blustery showers, perhaps heavy and thundery for a time. Becoming generally cloudy later on, ahead of rain arriving from the southwest. Maximum Temperature 17 C. Monday: Exceptionally windy for a time, with squally rain or blustery showers. The strongest winds should relent into the afternoon, with the risk of blustery showers subsiding as sunny spells develop. Maximum Temperature 17 C. NOERTHERN IRELAND Today: Scattered showers will turn frequent and heavy at times, and may be accompanied by hail and thunder. Some sunshine too the best of this towards Belfast and Newry. Strong southwest winds touching gale in blustery showers. Maximum Temperature 12 C. Monday: Any early rain clearing the far southeast then a bright day with a mixture of sunny intervals and scattered showers these turning heavy at times. Northwest winds strengthening later. Maximum Temperature 12 C. NORTH EAST ENGLAND Today: Generally windy throughout. Early rain should soon clear eastwards, replaced by brighter conditions but also blustery showers. Some of these showers may be heavy and thundery, merging in places to give longer spells of rain. Becoming drier and brighter later. Maximum Temperature 13 C. Monday: There is a risk of some strong winds in the south for a time, with squally rain. Otherwise bright but windy with a risk of blustery showers, easing later. Maximum Temperature 12 C. NORTH WEST ENGLAND Today: Sunny spells and blustery showers today, heaviest and most frequent across the north of the region. Winds also strengthening during the day, touching gale force at times, especially over the hills. Feeling less mild than of late. Maximum Temperature 14 C. Monday: A very wet and windy start to the day. Heavy rain then clearing to sunshine and scattered showers later in the morning, with winds also slowly easing during the day. Maximum Temperature 13 C.
