WEEK IN REVIEW Saturday, November 16 through Friday, November 22, 2013 Monday, November 18, 2013 Governor John R. Kasich announced reappointments to the Radiation Advisory Council and the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire and Transportation Services. Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor joined Senator George Voinovich, Cleveland State University President Ronald Berkman, and Bay Village Mayor Debbie Sutherland at Cleveland State University (Cuyahoga Co.) to announce the Local Government Efficiency Program sponsored by the Development Services Agency. The program provides $4.6 million in FY 2014 and $5.9 million in FY 15 to allow local governments to train in process efficiency programs and cost-saving measures. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 Kasich announced appointments to the Barber Board, the State Board of Emergency, Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services, and the State Board of Landscape Architect Examiners. Taylor toured State Ridge Elementary in Reynoldsburg (Franklin Co.) and observed the Free Breakfast Program with district officials and Children’s Hunger Alliance representatives. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 Kasich announced the appointment of A. Bailey Stanbery of Toledo (Lucas Co.) to the Board of Building Standards for a term beginning November 20, 2013 and ending October 13, 2017. First Lady Karen W. Kasich announced Ohio’s ‘Connected Health Education’ program which aims to build a healthier, more well-informed citizenry through K-12 and higher education collaboration. Thursday, November 21, 2013 Taylor viewed production lines at Producers Services Corporation (Muskingum Co.), an employee owned company that specializes in shale pressure pumping equipment. Taylor observed a welding for pipelines demonstration from current students at Belmont College Energy Institute (Belmont Co.). The Institute offers short-term certificates to individuals who already have degrees but want to re-train for work in the oil and gas industry. Friday, November 22, 2013 · Kasich announced the appointments of Dr. Douglas G. Cole of Uniontown (Summit Co.) and Dr. Denise E. Rabold of Columbus (Franklin Co.) to the State Board of Psychology.
