WELL NOW!! ITS COLD OUT THERE!! I actually slept in a little but finally had to go take a walk-about into the frozen tundra called my backyard. Took a 5 gallon bucket of hot water with me. First stop: break the ice on the duck pond. Second stop: use a branch to break and move the ice/snow blocking the gate to the rabbit-yard. Third stop: open the chicken coop. Fourth: start breaking ice off the tarps covering the rabbits to dispense water and food. The ice layer on top of the rabbit hutches was 1-inch thick! Country Mile pulled a LOT of fur to add to her nest of kits. Fifth: the silkies were clearly cold so I fixed a deep nest in a plastic tote, put them in and putem back in the coop. For once, they did not move. Sixth: give the rest of the hot water to the ducks and chickens. Lastly: take food out to the kittens. NOW, gonna warm up with some hot tea and an omelet!!
