WEST COLUMBIA, SC — Two West Columbia men have been arrested after narcotics officers found a meth lab inside a motel room Monday. Ernest Lee Watts Jr., 51, and Scott Gregory Wolfe Jr., 23, are both charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, according to Lexington County Sheriff James Metts. The men were both arrested after someone working at the Delta Motel on Augusta Road called police about a strong chemical odor coming from one of the rooms. When officers arrived, they also got a whiff of what they recognized through training as a meth lab and went inside the room. There, they found Watts, and took him into custody. A short time later, Wolfe drove to the hotel and walked to the room. He was also taken into police custody. Inside the motel, officers found a bottle that was being used to make methamphetamine. Both Watts and Wolfe are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
