WHAT ARE GMOS.... Genetically Modified Organisms - Organisms whose genetic material has been altered using DNA molecules from different sources, which are combined into one molecule to create a new set of genes. This DNA is then transferred into an organism, giving it modified or novel genes. Transgenic organisms, a subset of G M Os, are organisms which have inserted DNA that originated in a different species. These techniques are being used by companies like Monsanto to take over control of the food chain by making farmers completely dependent on patented modified seeds instead of collecting natural ones. This process seriously risks the continuance of life and has been called “colonization of the future”.
