WHAT DO YOU THINK??? I was driving the other day and I thought about something Ive heard all my life about having a NEW NAME, and I wondered what does that really mean? Ive heard all kinds of explanations regarding this topic, but none to satisfy my curiosity on the matter. The more I thought about it, this is what I came up with. Now Im not saying this is some kind of divine revelation or anything like that, Im just saying, its something Ive thought about. Tell me your take on the topic of having a NEW NAME. OK, before we get saved we are called SINNER after we get saved we are called CHRISTIAN, could this be the NEW NAME weve heard so much about? Think about it: When we get saved, we become a NEW CREATION, a NEW CREATURE OLD THINGSs are passed away and ALL THINGS become NEW. Instead of SINNER we are now CHRISTIAN ( name change) If Old THINGS are passed away, wouldnt our OLD NAME also pass away? If the OLD MAN has passed away wouldnt our OLD CLASSIFICATION/TITLE also pass away? Ive heard people say, we will LITERALLY have a NEW NAME, just like we will LITERALLY have a new body, ( if thats the case, I want to put my order in now for my new body lol) My thing is this: If we LITERALLY get a NEW NAME, how will we be known as we are known? Ive only got one name, had it all my life, people know me by my name, so if I get a NEW NAME, how will those in heaven know what it is, and how will I know what it is before I get there? I would have to know what it is ahead of arriving so I will know to respond when Im called by it, wouldnt I ? If Im known now as VICKI, when I get to heaven wont I still be known as VICKI, or will I be called something else, will I have a different name? Wont I be known as VICKI then as well? If not, how will those in heaven know what my new name is? Better yet, how will I know what my new name is, especially before I get there so I will be prepared to respond to it once I do get there? Seriously, Im being serious here, Id like an answer to this. Its like the time I asked what REBUKED meant. First off, before someone or something can be RE-buked they must first be BUKED dont they? Doesnt RE mean something has already been done and now its being done again? So in order to be REBUKED, one must first be BUKED. Makes sense to me. Anyway.....Ive heard different explanations about this NEW NAME thing so I thought Id throw it out there to see what some of you all might think and maybe share your thoughts on the matter. Seriously, where does this new name come from, and how do we get it before we get to heaven to be known by it?
