WHAT ETERNAL LIFE LOOKS LIKE The greatest evidence that we are walking IN CHRIST and being led by the Holy Spirit is that we display His essence in and through our lives. In humility and brokenness we are strengthened. The things of this world pale and grow dim in His glorious presence. There will be no doubt to ourselves and others that love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance will radiate from our thoughts, speech, and actions. We will not be able to restrain from sharing His love with others. We will not be able constrain the desire of seeking His Word and Will. Our desires will no longer be towards self but towards our Creator and Redeemer and our Brothers and Sisters who bear His name. Sharing His love will be as natural and as effortless a light destroying darkness. May He cause your face to shine that others may know that you walk IN CHRIST. Amen When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasnt aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the LORD. (Exodus 34:29) The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.(Psalms 51:17) Humility and self-diffidence, and an entire dependence on our Lord Jesus Christ, will be our best defense. Let us therefore maintain the strictest watch against spiritual pride, or being lifted up with extraordinary experiences and comforts, and the high favours of heaven, that any of us may have received. We had need, after such favours, in a special manner to keep a strict and jealous eye upon our own hearts, lest there should arise self-exalting reflections upon what we have received, and high thoughts of ourselves, as being now some of the most eminent of saints and peculiar favourites of heaven, and that the secret of the Lord is especially with us. Let us not presume, that we above all are fit to be advanced as the great instructors and censors of this evil generation; and, in a high conceit of our own wisdom and discerning, assume to ourselves the airs of prophets, or extraordinary ambassadors of heaven. When we have great discoveries of God made to our souls, we should not shine bright in our own eyes. (Jonathan Edwards)
